ST CUTHBERT’S WAY PILGRIMAGE

DAY 5

KIRK YETHOLM TO HETHPOOL

(Approx 5 miles)

We pondered on how different the landscape may have been during the time of Cuthbert.

The day started with a gentle incline.

But then some slightly  steeper climbing was needed up these wide-open hills

Soon we came to a significant way marker as our path crossed from Scotland to England

We journeyed along these wide farm tracks across sweeping hills whilst chatting about the story of St Cuthbert and his journey to Holy Island.

Finally, we walked the metalled road into Hethpool

And now onto Day Six!
